Junior Olympic Volleyball
USA Junior Olympic Volleyball (USAV) offers athletes the opportunity to play volleyball after their fall school season (girls) and before the spring school season (boys). Club volleyball, as it is commonly referred, is an avenue for girls and boys (beginner to elite) from ages 10 to 18 to play in competitive tournaments. To obtain advanced training, teams will be practicing two to three times a week. The Boy's season begins in late September to early March and concludes in June/July. The Girl's season begins in November and concludes in June/July. Under the governing body of USA Volleyball, age specific divisions compete against one another in local, regional, and national tournaments. These age divisions are determined as follows.
2008-2009 Age Qualifications for Juniors:
-
18 & Under: Players born on or after September 1, 1990 (Seniors)
-
17 & Under: Players born on or after September 1, 1991 (Juniors)
-
16 & Under: Players born on or after September 1, 1992 (Sophomore)

Today, you will find that most athletes who compete at the collegiate level have participated in Club Volleyball during their Junior High School and High School years. Most successful High School coaches encourage their athletes to play Club Volleyball for the positive experience, quality instruction, and advanced training it provides.
